Managing the details of your imports will help your peers/colleagues understand your imports better and know what data is being pulled from what data source.
Coefficient defaults to naming the imports based on the object(s)/tables that are being used to query and import data. Sometimes that information is not clear to all of your team members, so re-naming your import and/or giving it a description is a great way to help your team. The name of the import in the Coefficient sidebar is also the name of the tab that you see at the bottom of the Sheet. We decided to keep the two identical so it is easy to manage and navigate your workbook.
(This Example: We will Rename a Leads Report import from Salesforce)
From the Coefficient sidebar, locate the import to rename.
Locate the tab/Sheet for that import in the Workbook (tabs across the bottom of your Google Workbook). Click on the inverted triangle next to the name in the tab/Sheet and select “Rename” from the list. (You can also double-click the sheet’s tab name to highlight/update).
Open the Coefficient sidebar, and locate the import from the list you would like to add a description to.
Click on the 3-vertical dots for that import, and select “Edit” from the options listed.
The import details will appear in the sidebar. Click on the 3-vertical dots (again) and select “Add Description” from the list.
Enter the description. (Note: There is a 100-character limit for this field) Save.
The new description now shows under the import in the sidebar.
Can my Sheet name and my import name be different?
The Google Sheet name and the Import name will always match. This is by design and expected behavior in Coefficient.
