When you begin an Airtable import for the first time, you will need to go through a few steps to authorize Coefficient and provide access to your bases and workspaces.
Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click the Menu.
Select “Connected Sources”.
Select “Add Connection*”* at the bottom and then “Connect” to Airtable.
“Authorize” Coefficient to connect to your Airtable instance.
In the next step, you will be presented with the option to select what base(s) Coefficient will connect to for imports. We highly recommend that you select, “All current and future bases in all current and future workspaces” as the option in this step. If you select a specific base (only) then you will only be able to import data from that base, unless you ReAuthorize Coefficient later on for all bases.
Click “+Add a base”, then select the base you would like to give Coefficient access to and click “Grant Access” when done.
Open the Coefficient Sidebar and click on the “Import from…” button. ****
Select “Airtable” from the list.
Select “From View URL”.
Copy the View’s URL from Airtable (the entire URL) and paste it into the text box provided.
Note: The View URL should have the following format: https://airtable.com/<base>/<table>/<view>? (example: https://airtable.com/appskOjGRmJUTNzGu/tblbj9D1h3YLL6F3Y/viwwNDmyk5DJyLtQx?blocks=hide)
The data preview window will allow you to check/uncheck fields to include in your import. Then click, “Import” on the top right of your screen.
Note: All filters/sorting options are inherited from your Airtable view once your data is imported. This means that if you want to filter or sort your data further you will need to make the adjustment in the Airtable UI on the source.
Congratulations on your first Airtable import in Coefficient! 🎉
Note: The default name of your import is based on the Table’s name and not the View name. You can always modify it to your liking if needed. 👍🏼
